Dieter R. Rodrian, 88 of Caseyville, Illinois passed away peacefully on September 21, 2023. He was born October 8, 1934 in Palmerton, Pennsylvania to Richard and Paula (Kruska) Rodrian. After graduating from High School, he went on to obtain his degree in chemistry. He had a long career as a pharmaceutical chemist, eventually retiring from Mallinckrodt Nuclear. Dieter married Marilyn (McVey) on August 9, 1997 in Hollywood Heights, Illinois. They enjoyed 25 years of happiness until Marilyn passed away in 2022. His hobbies include hiking, hunting for mushrooms, and collecting many unusual things. He also loved seafood and playing D&D.

Dieter is survived by sons, Keith and Scott (Stephanie Thomas) Rodrian; stepchildren, Christina Jones, Robert Mills, Daniel Mills, Lisa Lowe, Holly Smith and Jennifer Burnette; step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, parents, and stepson Larry Mills.

Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main St. Collinsville, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in the name of Dieter to the National Audubon Society, 225 Varick St. 7th Floor New York, NY 10014.
