Dolores A. Fernandez

Dolores A. Fernandez, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., born November 16, 1930, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017, in Maryville Ill.

Dolores was a very caring and loving mother, her joys in life were taking care of her family and home. She had many interest including cooking especially Sunday Dinner, reading, playing cards, jig saw puzzles and playing the piano. However, she really enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Dolores was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fairmont City, Ill.,

She was preceded in death by Manuel Fernandez, who passed away November, 16, 2013; parents, John T. & Anna, nee Bova, Grissom; grandson, Jacob Sallot.

Surviving are her children, Donna (Jeff) Moody of St. Jacob, Ill., Tina Fernandez of Millstadt, Ill., Joe (Karen) Fernandez of Mt. Olive, Ill., Laura (Rob Lutes Jr.) Lutes of Collinsville, Ill., Vincent M. Fernandez of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Nathan Lutes, Christopher Lutes, Jenna Zellin, Jared Zellin, Jason Fernandez, Joe Fernandez Jr., Amy Fernandez, Anna Fernandez, Jonathan Sallot; sister, Vivian Carpenter of Oregon and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Metro East Humane Society and can be received at the funeral home. Condolences can be expressed to the family through this online guestbook.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Father Dave Wilke officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
