IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald R
Agers
June 14, 1946 – September 2, 2022
Donald R. Agers, 76, of Collinsville, IL., passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022 after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born on June 14, 1946 to parents Richard and Leona Agers in St. Louis, MO, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving partner of 25 years, Karla Layman of Collinsville, IL.; as well as sons Donald Agers Jr. and Patrick Agers, both of Florida; Phillip Cronenbold, Anthony (Megan) Cronenbold, and Mallory Cronenbold of Collinsville, IL. Also surviving him are his grandchildren: Joshua Agers, Kalan (David) Taylor, and Austin Agers, along with great-grandchildren Cypress and Lincoln Taylor.
A member of the Air Force for 4 years, Donald took up work as a truck driver and forklift operator after his honorable discharge from the military. He was an avid NASCAR and St. Louis sports fan and loved to cheer on his favorite teams (the Cardinals and the Blues) whenever he could, both in person and at home. He went to races in Daytona and Tennessee as often as possible, and could be found socializing with his friends in the neighborhood when he was at home.
Throughout his illness, he came to know the staff of DaVita Dialysis in Maryville, IL. very well, even joking with his partner that the center was his "second home". The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff members at that location for taking such great care of him over the years.
Cremation rites have been afforded, and a private interment at Jefferson Barracks will follow at a later date
