Obituary

Donald (Don) G. Nicoloff, 71, of Troy, Illinois, born April 3, 1952 passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on December 31, 2023. Don married Roberta (Bobbie) Welle on June 14, 1975. They were married 48 years and have two children together, Kelly (Nicoloff) Andrews and Brian Nicoloff.

Don entered the U.S. Navy in 1970 at age 18 and served until 1974. He worked at Dome Railway in Wood River, Illinois from 1976 until 2003 and at Metro East Industries in Alorton, Illinois from 2003 until 2015. Don was a devout Catholic and rich in his faith in God. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family parish in Cahokia, Illinois until 2001 when he joined Mother of Perpetual Help parish in Maryville, Illinois. Don loved watching the St. Louis Cardinals and keeping a close eye on the weather. His favorite pastime was cheering on his children and grandchildren in all of their athletic, theatrical and musical endeavors.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, George Pete Nicoloff and Rosina (nee Feigl) Nicoloff, as well as his grandparents and numerous family members and friends. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Nicoloff, his two children, Kelly (Johnny) Andrews and Brian (Lisa) Nicoloff and his four grandchildren, Sydney Andrews, Eli Nicoloff, Brady Andrews and Crosby Nicoloff. Don is also survived by eight brothers and sisters: Loretta (Ray) Chazelle, Cecilia Sampson, Michele Chambliss, Vivian (Craig) Haynes, Bernadine (John) Gisher, Jerry Nicoloff, Renee (Jim) Busche
and Jim Nicoloff. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Don will be greatly missed by all of those who were lucky enough to know him.

Visitation: Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Illinois / Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 4:00PM – 8:00PM.

Funeral Mass: Mother of Perpetual Help in Maryville, Illinois / Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10:00AM.

Interment: Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO / Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2:00PM

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Don's name to any of the following organizations: Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
