Donald Sether, 77, of Collinsville, Illinois, born Tuesday, May 17th, 1938 in Renville, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, March 24th, 2016.
Donald was a member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Illinois and he was active with C.R.U. (formerly Campus Crusade), distributing the Jesus film throughout the World. Donald was proud to be a United States Marine, where he served valiantly from 1959 to 1963. Donald then became a Court Reporter for forty years and also taught Court Reporting at Merrimac Campus, St. Louis Community College.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; Joseph and Mata Sether.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Karen Sether, children; Robin (Michael) Beer of Suwanee, Georgia, Jill Burroughs of Glen Carbon, Illinois, and Scott (Cynthia) Sether of Burnsville, Minnesota and one sister, JoAnn (Randy) Paulson of Wilmar, Minnesota. He is further survived by eight grandchildren; Kelsey, Seth, Savannah, Zackary, Joshua, Jacob, Johnathan, and Joseph.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main St., Collinsville, Illinois on Tuesday, March 29th, 2016. Funeral will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Illinois, with a one hour visit prior to services.
