Donna Jean Niemaczek (McElligott) Guentzel, 73 of Collinsville, Illinois passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville Illinois.

Donna was born to the late Joseph and Ruth (Hagne) Niemaczek on February 15, 1949, in East St. Louis, Illinois.

She leaves behind her loving husband Dan Guentzel, who she married on March 23, 1990, in Edwardsville, IL. Sons Timothy (Cassie) McElligott of Austin, TX and Christopher McElligott of Caseyville, IL.  Daughter Jennifer (Joshua) Chenoweth of Ashland, OR and stepdaughter Crystal (Chad) Robinson.  Sisters Sheila (Paul) Nelson of Dittmer, MO and Marry (Art) Ponder of Swansea, IL.  She will also be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren Connor McElligott, Caelan McElligott, Ian McElligott, Rowan Chenoweth, Linnea Chenoweth, step grandchildren Alexander Robinson, Nathaniel Robinson, Arianna Robinson and great grandson Damien Chavas.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Ruth also brothers Joseph F. Niemaczek, Steven Niemazcek and sister Carol Hannon.

Donna's joy was her family. She was close to her siblings and cousins growing up. She played bingo and enjoyed shopping with her mother, Ruth. Her heart was the fullest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She loved to go out dancing and enjoyed listening and singing along to music. She sang in her church choir. Donna loved to travel and go on adventures. She was a "helper". She worked for many years as a CNA at the Caseyville Nursing home, and later was a manager at the St. Clair Antique Mall. She joined TOPS in Collinsville, IL and enjoyed walking and dining with her TOPS friends. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends.
