Dora E. Wright, nee Brooks, 74, of Collinsville, Ill., born Dec. 26, 1937, in Erin, Tenn., died at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Belleville, Ill.



Mrs. Wright was retired from Collinsville Unit 10 School District after 26 years. She was a member of Meadow Heights Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill.



Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and May Bell, nee Patterson, Brooks; brothers, Preston Brooks, Vernon Brooks and Paul Brooks; and sisters, Ocie Bishop, Ethel Brooks, Ruby Heggie, Rowene Dreaden and Velma Jackson.



Surviving are her husband, Alvin Wright of Collinsville, Ill., whom she married on May 4, 1957; son and daughter, Kevin (Diane) Wright of Collinsville, Ill., and Kimberly (Bill) Shadwick of Maryville, Ill.; brother and sisters, Floyd Brooks of Canton, N.C., Lucille Haddox of St. Clair Shores, Mich., Dottie Hamilton of Erin, Tenn., and Pauline Hackett of Erin, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.

Funeral: Service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Robinson officiating. Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Ill.
