Doris J. Franzi, nee Eberhart, 83, of Edwardsville, Ill., born Aug. 14, 1929, in Madison County, Ill., died on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Doris retired from SIU Edwardsville, Ill., after 30 years of service in multiple roles in her time at SIUE. She was an avid seamstress and also in millinery. She loved flower gardening and watching birds. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society and T & T Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alan Franzi, whom she married on Sept. 21, 1956; parents, Albert and Mabel, nee Wheat, Eberhart; brothers and sisters, Carl Eberhart, Charlotte Taylor, Alberta Heikes, Edna Chandler, Catherine Schuette, Evelyn Berrigan and Hilbert Eberhart; and a daughter-in-law, Cyndi Fullriede.

Surviving are her daughter, Paula (Martin) Moeckli of Edwardsville, Ill.; sons, Robert Fullriede of St. Louis, Mo., and David Fullriede of Edwardsville, Ill.; a brother, Wesley Eberhart of Bethalto, Ill.; and two grandchildren.

Funeral: Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Edwardsville, Ill., with the Rev. John Shank officiating. Interment in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, Ill.
