Doris V. McGinnis

Doris V., nee Hanser, McGinnis, 88, of Collinsville, Ill., born November 29, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017.

Doris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She retired from Ostle Drug Company after nearly twenty years and belonged to the Retailers Clerks Local 229. Doris was a very active member of the First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Ill., where she was the office administrator and treasurer along with being a Sunday School Teacher. She continued to give back to the community by volunteering for the Collinsville Area Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry, Tabitha Mission Circle and Good Samaritan Committee.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard McGinnis, whom she married December 24, 1946, in Collinsville, Ill., and passed away September 19, 2016; her parents, Roy J. and Rose, nee Freeman, Hanser; her brother, Roy Hanser Jr.

Surviving are her sons, Mark (Sharon) McGinnis of Collinsville, Ill., Terry (Lee) McGinnis of Dallas, Tx., Michael (Dale Trimm) McGinnis of Palm Springs, Ca., Dan McGinnis of Swansea, Ill.; grandchildren, Chae Li Yong, Tessa Lester, Paul Riddle, Shea McGinnis, Cheryl Harding, Morgan McGinnis; great-grandchild, Dominic Barnard.
