Doris M. Widdows (nee Mizee), 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23, 2023 in Glen Carbon, Illinois.  Doris was born May 30, 1926, in Caseyville, Illinois to the late Edgar and Elva (nee Spengler) Mizee.

Doris married James R. Widdows on January 29, 1947.  They celebrated 63 wonderful years together before James' passing, October 14, 2010.  She was a devoted member of the Caseyville United Methodist Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Widdows; her parents, Edgar and Elva Mizee; brother, Robert Mizee; sister Lois Fellhauer; and two sons-in-law, Rupert Greeling and David Smith.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Carolyn Greeling, Janet (Brad) Smith, Valerie (Richard) Durley-Eilering and Gail (Fred Rosen) Smith; six grandchildren, Kris (Mark) Flesher, Heather (Brandon) Meiner, Brad Widdows (Stacy Swalley), Nicole (Jeff) Slazinik, Rachel (Mike) Losacco, and Rebecca Eilering (Ben Leffler); and eight great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Flesher, Kayleigh and Bradley Widdows, Jr.,Madison Meiner, Will and Mia Slazinik, and Connor Losacco.

Visitation will be held at the Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street, Collinsville, IL on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm, and on Tuesday, January 31, 2023  from 10:00am - 11:00am.  The funeral service will follow the visitation on Tuesday at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mike Barclay officiating.  Internment will be in Caseyville Cemetery, 109 Hollywood Heights Road, Caseyville, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Caseyville United Methodist Church will be appreciated.
