Dorothy M. Winney, nee Berg, 93, formerly of St. Louis, Mo., born Aug. 27, 1920, in St. Louis, Mo., died on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Relais Bonne Eau in Edwardsville, Ill.

Mrs. Winney was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill., and was also a member of the Eastern Star.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, W. Oliver Winney; and her parents, Edward G. and Leona, nee Payne, Berg.

Surviving are her two sons, Ronald (Dianne) Winney of Edwardsville, Ill., and Wayne O. Winney of Charleston, S.C.; daughter, Carol Winney of Tampa, Fla.; sister, Margaret Still of Mehlville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Christy Pursell, Julie Neubauer, Andi Winney, Alex Winney, Windy Tucci and Dean Moss; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or to St. John United Church of Christ in care of Sunset Hill Funeral Home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tony Minear and the Rev. Katie Jo Bielke officiating.
