Dorothy Katherine Larner, nee Demaree, 85, of Granite City, Ill., born March 9, 1929, in Granite City, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 26, 2015, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Granite City, Ill.

Dorothy retired in 1995 from Granite City School District No. 9 as an office administrator after 25 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed traveling and gardening and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Larner, whom she married Aug. 2, 1947; a son, Gregory A. Larner; a daughter, Deborah S. Conway; and her parents, Spiro and Teresa, nee Siefert, Demaree.

Surviving are a son, Jeffrey (Nathalie) Larner of Edwardsville, Ill.; a daughter, Jencee Crouter of Granite City, Ill.; a brother, Richard (Darlene) Demaree of Granite City, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Lori, Amy, Tom, Chad, Mathew, Kasie, Sean, Erica and Krista; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Edwardsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Daniel Bergbower officiating. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Ill.
