Dorothy Mae Fischer, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Glen Carbon, IL.  Dorothy was born on November 22, 1929 to Wilbur and Dorothy McCormick (nee Callen).

Dorothy was a master gardener and loved being outdoors.  She was an avid reader, reading approximately 5 books a week, even at her age of 92 years.  Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Fischer; children, Stephen Fischer and Kathy Armstrong; parents, Dorothy and Wilbur McCormick; and brother and sister-in-law, Wade and Lillian McCormick.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karen Palmer and husband, Ed; grandchildren, Christopher Palmer, Sarah Palmer, Melissa Armstrong-Brine and family (late husband, David), Stephanie Dahl (Brandon), Cindy Torrence (Daniel), Patrick Armstrong (Katie), and Phillip Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Owen and Clara Dahl, Mya and Nala Armstrong, and Chloe Armstrong; and son-in-law (husband of Kathy), Paul Armstrong.

Services for Dorothy will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022.  Visitation will be held from 10:00am – 11:00am with the funeral to follow at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in St. John's cemetery.
