Dorothy M. Zajac, nee Henderson, 85, of Edwardsville, Ill., born May 11, 1928, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Eden Village Care Center, Glen Carbon, Ill.

Mrs. Zajac was first and foremost a homemaker and mother. She was past president of the PTA at St. Martin's in East St. Louis, Ill. She was a den mother and enjoyed bowling, tennis, and had a love for animals and enjoyed the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Levita, nee Pursher, Henderson; and three sisters, Bernice Gersner, Betty Worden, and Doris Drake.

Surviving are her husband, John Zajac of Edwardsville, Ill., whom she married Oct. 4, 1947; and her children, Marlene (Louis) Branz of Edwardsville, Ill., Connie (Bill) Williamson of Glen Carbon, Ill., and Chris (Marie) Zajac of Wildwood, Mo.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill. Per Mrs. Zajac's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
