Dorothy M. Mahan, 91, of Collinsville, Ill., born Feb. 11, 1920, in Blair, Ill., died at 3:11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.



Dorothy retired as a bookkeeper from the Municipal Theatre Association (Muny Opera) after 24 years. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Collinsville, Ill.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther R. and Ethel, nee Braden, Mahan; and a sister, Ruth M. Vassiere.



Surviving are her sister, Marjorie Smith of Collinsville, Ill.; nieces and nephews, Bonita (Larry) Krupp of Collinsville, Ill., Donald Smith of Houston, Texas, Ruth Karen (Robert) Blanchard of Chicago, Ill., Sharon (Mike McFadyn) Vassiere of Anchorage, Alaska, Edward (Belinda) Vassiere of Austin, Texas, and Diane Vassiere of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Edward Vassiere of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Sparta, Ill.
