Dorothy Alberta Lofink Miller, age 99, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022, 4:40 p.m. at Liberty Village in Maryville, Illinois.
She was born January 30, 1923 in Muddy, Illinois, and the daughter of the late Ruby and Lula (nee: Neible) Lofink.
She married Donald J. Miller. He later preceded her in death.
Dorothy enjoyed God's creation, whether spending time on the water, watching the birds, or working in her own gardens. She was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Church, ministering to the congregation in the kitchen, children's classrooms, clothing closet, choir, custodial services, and anywhere else she was needed. Family was Dorothy's greatest blessing; she loved hosting meals, visiting with her siblings and their families, trips together, and family reunions. Dorothy was active and spunky well into her 90's. She could often be found raking the gum balls from her yard, mowing her grass, or driving friends to appointments. She lived a full and happy life and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Survivors include: a son and daughter-in-law; Myron Don and Joanne Miller of Collinsville, Illinois a daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda Sue and Kelly Hogan of Granite City, a brother; Bill Lofink of Louisville, Kentucky 3 grandchildren and their spouses; Erin and Chris Cash, Annie and Jai Hartigan , Brett and Lauren Briggs 5 great-grandchildren, other extended family and friends.
In addition, to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by four siblings.
Friends are invited to join the family to celebrate and honor Dorothy's life on Thursday, July 14, 2022, 11:00 a.m.for Graveside Services at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Her grandchildren, Rev. Erin and Rev Chris Cash will officiate.
Those attending the graveside service, are welcome to gather at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the graveside service.
Memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church in Granite City.
