Dorothy Jean Mims, 87, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on May 23, 2021, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Illinois.

Dorothy was born December 11, 1933, to Bert and Emma Lucy (England) Vancely, in Leachville, Arkansas.

Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo and visiting casinos in her earlier years. She was very happy to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Pete" Mims; and son, James Mims.

Survivors include her children: Marilyn Laquey of Caseyville, Illinois, Terry (Angel) Mims of Collinsville, Illinois, Cindy (Robert) Santerre of Yelm, Washington, Laura (Tom) Burcham of Collinsville, Illinois, Beverly (Shane) Kellett of Sullivan, Indiana, and Carey Mims of Collinsville, Illinois; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Habermehl officiating. Burial will follow at Farina Cemetery, Farina, Illinois, under the direction of Herr Funeral Home.
