Dorothy Jean Feigl, nee Prader, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sept. 10, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away into the arms of Jesus Christ with her family at her bedside to meet her late husband Alex on March 13, 2013.
Through the years Dorothy was a homemaker, a graduate of St. Theresa Academy in 1944, and a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church for many years. As her children were growing up, she spent much of her time doing volunteer work, volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader and attending countless school functions. Dorothy was also active with the Mothers Club at the former Assumption High School in East St. Louis, Ill., and she also belonged to T.O.P.S. During her later years she enjoyed Bingo every Sunday, traveling, listening to her police scanner, and being with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was known as "Grandma Dot", and will always be remembered as having a great sense of humor even hours before her death and was a happy, loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. As an old Hebrew Proverb goes, "Say not in grief she is no more. But live in thankfulness that she was."
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Feigl whom she married on Nov. 16, 1947; her parents, George and Clara, nee Weigers, Prader; a brother, George Prader; and sister, Rita Crow.
Surviving are her children, Patti (James) Sasse of Collinsville, Ill., Dr. Alex (Polly) Feigl of McAllen, Texas, Peggy (Stephen) Gude of Collinsville, Ill., and Janet (Tim) Lewis of Troy, Ill.; grandchildren, Steven, Jennifer, John, Katie, Matt, Brett and Alex; great-grandchildren, Steven, Cameron, Lucas, Makayla, Connor, Drayke, Lily and Molly; and her brother, John Patrick Prader of Pevley, Mo.
Her children would like to thank Anderson Hospital medical staff and Liberty Village staff who treated Dorothy with such wonderful, compassionate, and tender loving care. Also a special thanks to her neighbors who looked after her and cared for her as if she were their own.
