Dorothy Suppon, 98, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, January 29 ^th , 2019. She was born January 2 ^nd , 1921 in Caseyville, Illinois to George and Anna (Schanz) Struebe.

She was a member of Caseyville United Methodist Church until she was 17 years old and then converted to Catholicism and became a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She has been a member of St. Stephen for 81 years.

Dorothy and her mother, Anna, owned and operated Struebe's Confectionery until 1960. The confectionery was located on the north side of the Caseyville bridge. She also worked at the Martha Manning Dress Factory in Collinsville.

After Dorothy married Victor Suppon on October 3, 1954, she became a full-time homemaker. They had one daughter, Sue Ann.

Dorothy was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Collinsville and St. Anne Altar Society at St. Stephen Church. She volunteered at the Caseyville Food Pantry and at St. Stephen and Seton Ann Catholic Grade Schools in Caseyville and Fairview Heights. Many children looked forward to reading their books to Dorothy.

Dorothy loved to play cards, dance and cook. She loved her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor, and son-in-law, Larry James Huett.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Huett of Collinsville, Illinois and granddaughter, Amy Marie Huett of Los Angeles, California.

Visitation will be Friday, February 1 ^st , 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church, Caseyville. A prayer service will be held on Friday at the church at 4:00 P.M.

Funeral will be Saturday, February 2 ^nd , 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with an additional visitation one hour prior to service.

Interment will follow in Caseyville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made as Masses to the Church or to Knollwood Village Retirement Community.
