Dorothy F. Whiton

Dorothy "Dottie" Whiton, 67, of Collinsville, Ill., born August 7, 1949, in Atlanta, Ga., passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

Dottie was a loving mother and grandmother who often said that her greatest accomplishment was her two daughters. She will be fondly remembered for her southern charm and endearing manner that made family and friends feel loved. She traveled extensively throughout the U.S with her late husband Roger.

Dottie was preceded in death by her husband Lt. Col. Roger Whiton; her parents, Kenneth and Mary Ann, nee Starnes, Zinn.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Lorrie (Brad Gordon) Cook of Maryville, Ill., Jennifer (Tod Derickson) Parker of Chesterfield, Mo.; her grandchildren, Tiffany Parker, Lannah Parker, Scott Williams and Ethan Williams; brother, Gary Zinn of West Palm Beach Fl.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at St. Luke''s United Methodist Church, Maryville, Ill., with Pastor Rob Roy officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
