Earl P. Carney 86 of Madison, Illinois passed away on Sunday October 29, 2017 at the Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, Illinois. Earl was born in E. St. Louis, Illinois on January 8, 1931 the son of the late Charles and Francis (Bilyea) Carney.

Earl is survived by his wife Judy K. (Mahoney) Carney of Madison, Illinois, children Earl P. Fanning of Granite City, Illinois, Eddie Dean Carney of Mississippi and daughter Ruth Ann Sloan of Granite City, Illinois, his sister Fay Hamilton of Granite City, Illinois and sister-in-law Nancy (William) Lappe of Collinsville, Illinois. Also survived by six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Earl retired from Granite City Steel where he was a crane operator. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, Illinois on Wednesday November 1, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 P.M.

Funeral: Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday November 2, 2017 at 10:00 A.M at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Illinois.
