Mr. Earl Elmer Hartmann, Jr., 81, of Collinsville, Ill., died Sunday October 4, 2015, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill. He was born Nov. 14, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Earl hartmann Sr., and Lillian Hajny Hartmann.
He was married November 21, 1953 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fairmont City, Ill. to Helen Jean Sheroky, who resides in Collinsville, Ill.
Besides his wife he is survived his two sons, Michael (Sharon-deceased) Hartmann of Bradenton, Fla. and Bob (Kimberly) Hartmann of Edwardsville, Ill.; and three daughters, Barbara (David) Northway of Glen Carbon, Ill., Laura Hartmann of Gulf Shores, Ala. and Christine (Tim) Murphy of Wildwood, Mo. There are also nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild and another to be born shortly.
Mr. Hartmann was a retired Claims Specialist with State Farm Insurance Company. He was a member of the Southwestern Illinois Claims Association. He was a veteran of the U S Army having served in the Korean War.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church Building Fund, Holy Catholic Church Masses or to the Donor's Choice.
Visitation: Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Fairmont City Ill., with Father David Wilke officiating. Burialwill follow the mass at St John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
