Earl Miles Jr., 91, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sunday, April 8, 1923, in Dongola, Ill., passed away at 8:05 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at his residence.
Earl retired as a service manager and salesman from the St. Louis office of Unisys. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Ill., the Collinsville Noontime Lions Club, Masonic Lodge in Dongola, Ainad Shrine, American Legion Post 365 Collinsville, Elks Club in Centralia and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Verda, nee Osman, Miles Sr.; a brother, Dean Miles; and sister, Maldetta Hinkle.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia "Ginny", nee Brimm, Miles, whom he married on Aug. 10, 1947; daughter, Cynthia Alice Hewitt of Collinsville, Ill.; son, Douglas Earl Miles of Collinsville, Ill.; sister, Glenna Cochran of Collinsville, Ill.; brother, Bob Miles of Wildwood, Mo.; granddaughters, Gretchen (Dan) Hund of Highland, Ill., Kristen Miles of Collinsville, Ill., and Katie Miles of Collinsville, Ill.; sister-in-law, Eleanor Ketchie of North Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Trent, Savannah and Lucas Hund; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at the funeral home with Rev. Greg Pratt officiating.
There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna, Ill. Burial will be in Anna City Cemetery, Anna, Ill.
