Edna B. Evans, nee McClurg, 103, of Glen Carbon, Ill., formerly of Collinsville, Ill., born April 15, 1909, in Hillsboro, Ill., died at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Meridian Village, Glen Carbon, Ill.
Edna was a very active member of the Collinsville Historical Museum, Collinsville Women's Club, Senior Bowling League, various bridge clubs and Church Women United. Edna was also an avid U of I sports fan and attended many events in Champaign and attended the Final Four Championship Game in 2005 in St Louis when the Illini were in the finals. She also attended the Rose Bowl Parade and game in 2008. She was also an avid Kahok fan. Edna retired from Unit 10 after 27 years and also taught school in Hillsboro for seven years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian in Collinsville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arlin Evans whom she married on June 17, 1934, and who died June 6, 1973; her parents, William and Bessie, nee Govaia, McClurg; and a brother, Pat McClurg.
Surviving are her son, Bruce (Marian) Evans of Charleston, S.C.; three daughters, Jane (J.D.) Jones of Bloomingdale, Ohio, Sarah (Jim) Randles of Roanoke, Va., and Ann (Ron) Goldsmith of Collinsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, Keith (Nancy) Jones of Phoenix, Ariz., Susan (Tim) Kirkland of Cranberry Twp., Pa., Sandra Morris of Knoxville, Tenn., Melissa Ruffin of Collierville, Tenn., Edward Goldsmith of Springfield, Ill., and Josh (Chassity) Evans of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and nine great-grandchildren John, Katie, Shelby, Ian, Drew, Parker, Chasey, Lilly and Fletcher.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at First United Presbyterian Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Dr. Lloyd Shaw officiating. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery.
