Edward Wayne Burgess, Sr. age 77, of Edwardsville, Ill., born April 30, 1937 in Rutland, Ill., passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at his residence.

Mr. Burgess was the owner of Wayne''s Professional Dry Cleaners in Edwardsville, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Oma, nee Mayberry, Burgess, and two brothers, Louis Burgess and Lawrence Burgess.

Surviving are his wife, Bertha Virginia, nee York, Burgess, whom he married on April 27, 1956; three sons and one daughter, Edward W. Burgess, Jr. of Edwardsville, Ill., Pamela (Lyndell Weber) Burgess of Worden, Ill., Bryan Burgess of Edwardsville, Ill., and Terry (Cindy) Burgess of Edwardsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, James, Dusty and Joey Burgess, Chad Weber, Cassie Weber-Flynn, and Jeremy Jeager; three great grandchildren, Lola and Emma Flynn and Bailey Baldwin; two sisters, Wanda Schafer of Bowling Green, Ky., and Delores June Nash of Jerseyville, Ill.; and two brothers, Otis Burgess of Jerseyville, Ill., and Silas Burgess of Staunton, Ill.
