Edward P. Turner, 90, of Collinsville, born on Sept. 12, 1922, in Collinsville, Ill., died at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, in Collinsville, Ill.
Mr. Turner retired from the City of Collinsville, where he had worked for the water department. He belonged to and was very active with the VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville, Ill., the American Legion Post 365 in Collinsville, Ill., and was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Fred G. and Laura A., nee Trolliet, Turner Sr.; brothers, Ardell Turner, and Austin Turner; and sisters, Louise Cargnino, Helen Shelton and Audrey Newgent.
Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Viola, nee Carroll, Turner, whom he married on Aug. 31, 1963, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, Ill.; son, Larry G. Turner of Collinsville, Ill.; daughters, Rhonda J. Kismer of Collinsville, Ill., and Janet Cannell of Rolla, Mo.; brothers, Norman Turner of Collinsville, Ill., and Fred G. Turner Jr., of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Sean Turner, Tracy Turner, Jeannette Parsons, Anthony Silvey, Bart Elliott and Wendy Bahr; and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Jacob, Olivia, Gabe, Cy, Nolan, Aidan and Mey.
