Edward Weimer
Edward R. Weimer "Fast Eddie" of Collinsville, Ill., born Jan. 30, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pa., passed away Friday, August 5, 2016, at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehabilitation, Edwardsville, Ill.
Mr. Weimer had been a jockey and exercise boy for many years at Cahokia Mounds Race Track, Fairmont Park Race Track, and numerous other tracks throughout Illinois, and the United States. After retiring as
a jockey, Mr. Weimer transitioned into a horse trainer, where he had numerous successes and who will always be remembered as "Fast Eddie" for his love of racing and horses.
He was preceded in death by his loving companion of over 40 years, Marie Marchetti, who passed away on Feb. 11, 2010.
Surviving are a step-son, Domnick (Christina) Marchetti, Sr., of Baker, Fla.; his grandchildren, Domnick (Katherine) Marchetti, Jr., of Collinsville, Ill., Michael Marchetti of Phoenix, Ariz., Lisa Fort of Collinsville, Ill., and Brittany (Darrell) Boykin, Jr., of Crestview, Fla.; as well as two great-grandchildren, Christopher Marchetti and Alaina Fort.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016, at the funeral home, with burial immediately following in St. John's Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
