Elinor I. (Steeber) Fritz, age 99 of Glen Carbon, died at 9:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.
She was born Nov. 6, 1914, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Forbus and Lena Kamp Steeber. She married Henry Fritz on Sept. 19, 1934, in St. Louis. He preceded her in death in February, 1992.
She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Fanter of Glen Carbon and Beverly Williams of Glen Carbon; five grandchildren: Laurie VanZandt of Edwardsville, Kathie Forbes of Boise, Idaho, Daniel Fanter, and wife Teena, of Chandler, Ariz., Lt. Col. Timothy Fanter, and wife Jin Hae, of Versailles, Ky., and Tammy Fuller, and husband Paul, of Edwardsville and 10 great-grandchildren: Ryan Miller of Boise, Idaho, Dylan Miller of Boise, Idaho, Aimee Fanter of Versailles, Ky., Tiffany Fanter of Versailles, Ky., Crystal Fanter of Versailles, Ky., Andy VanZandt of Edwardsville, Lucas Forbes, of Boise, Idaho, Alexa Forbes of Boise, Idaho, Spencer Fuller of Edwardsville and Siena Fuller of Edwardsville and and several great-nieces and great-nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Rev. Allan Fanter, four sisters and five nieces.
Mrs. Fritz was a secretary for the Lutheran Church (Missouri Synod) before her retirement. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
At her request, cremation is rites will be accorded by Sunset Hill Funeral Home and her ashes will be inurnment in the Sunset Hill Mausoleum.
