Elizabeth Irene "Betty" Wood, nee Herbst, 83, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sept. 10, 1930, in Breese, Ill., passed away at 6:11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.

Betty loved going to casinos and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth, nee Dien, Herbst.

Surviving are her husband, Marion Wood, whom she married on May 22, 1948, and was happily married to for 65 years; daughter, Bonnie (Terry) Robertson of Collinsville, Ill.; three sons, Michael (Dorothy) Wood of Fairview Heights, Ill., Dennis (Mary) Wood of Edwardsville, Ill., and Gary (Theresa) Wood of Maryland Heights, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Erla Herbst of Breese, Ill.; and nephew, Lynn (Dixie) Pfister of Breese, Ill.
