Obituary

Elizabeth Ann Stuckey Pollard, of Collinsville, IL, finally found peace on August 10, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Elizabeth was born to Raymond and Vera (Grissom) Stuckey on February 9th, 1942. She lost a cherished brother, Thomas, when he was 15. Elizabeth went on to graduate from Missouri Baptist Hospital Nursing School. Being a nurse was just who she was and those friends she made at school were her sisters for life – Alice, Delilah, Juanita, Nancy.

She met and married Craig Allen Pollard, who precedes her in death. They loved to travel and shortly after their marriage, they moved to Australia, where their wonderful Aussie surprise, Rebecca, entered their lives. In total, they had three children, Rob, Maria and Rebecca; but in reality, they were blessed with hundreds of kids – Johnny, in Australia, and many teenagers from the First Baptist Church.

"Ma" and "Pa" Pollard were part of the young group ministry their entire married lives, and they loved camping, cooking, themed nights, and well, just all the times they spent with the kids in general.  After retiring, Elizabeth spent decades travelling to visit Rob and Letha on all their personal travels and adventures.  She travelled around the world with Maria and went on many special trips with Rebecca and Kyle, her cherished grandson.

Special thanks to the Swip family, who made her an honorary member; many wonderful times were spent with them.  She was blessed with an amazing son-in-law (Joe) and daughter-in-law (Letha).  Elizabeth was kind and compassionate.  She loved to travel and garden.  She was skilled at flower arranging, painting and sewing.  Family, Nursing and God were the defining aspects of her life.

She is survived by her children, Rob Allen Pollard and his wife Letha of French Village, MO, Maria Frantz Pollard of Granite City, IL, Rebecca Elizabeth Swip and her husband, Joe of Marine, IL, and Kyle William Swip, her beloved grandson.

A memorial to celebrate Elizabeth's life will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10 AM to 12 PM from the Chapel of Herr Funeral Home, 501 W. Main Street, Collinsville, IL 62234.
