Elsie M. Woolverton, 91, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away February 26, 2021.  She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 23, 1930 to Giles and Mary Tatiana (Manning) McCoy.

She was preceded by her loving husband, Richard.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.  She is survived by her daughters Janet (John) Strzelec, Patti (Jim) Agnew, Tina (Don) Baker, and Lisa (Gary) Smithe. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In her younger years, Elsie was a bowler who toured the United States with her bowling team.  She was a strong left-handed bowler.

All her life, Elsie showed she had artistic talent.   At age 60, she taught herself how to paint with oils.  She showcased some of her paintings in art shows and her eagles painting made the cover of the national Eagles Magazine.  A copy of her eagles painting is still showcased at the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site. She loved sharing her paintings with family members and those who showed interest in her talent.

Elsie loved her family most of all.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Saturday, March 6 , 2021 with the service following at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Illinois.
