Elwood Ellis Sapp, 80, of Collinsville, Ill., born March 20, 1932, in Highland, Ill., died at 3:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at his home.
Mr. Sapp was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, Ill., the Collinsville Masonic Lodge No. 712 AF & AM, Scottish Rite. He was also an avid Kahok fan and supporter for many years, a long time scout master of Boy Scout Troop 48 in Collinsville, Ill. He was a graduate of Truman State University. Elwood loved golf and spending time with his family and friends. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren Elwood and Arlene, nee Pfister, Sapp; step brother, Floyd Sperino; brother and sister-in-law, Warren and Peggy Canull; and brothers-in-law, Jim Canull and Lee Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline ,nee Canull, Sapp of Collinsville, Ill., whom he married on Dec. 19, 1953; son and daughter, Michael (Sally) Sapp of Edwardsville, Ill., and Sheryll (Michael) Tidwell of Collinsville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Smith and Mary Canull; grandchildren, Jessica Tidwell, Robyn (Grant) Koentz, Sara, Ellen, Eric and Amy Sapp; great-grandchildren, Izabelle and Maddyline; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the funeral home with the Rev. Tony Minear officiating. Interment in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, Ill.
