Eric Michael Bird, 34, of Collinsville, Ill., born Sunday, Jan. 25, 1981, in Tampa, Fla., passed away at 2:35 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at his residence.

Eric loved spending every moment he could with his son Caden, even when they were apart they were able to skype with each other.

He was a hardworking man that for the last several years was self employed as a contractor. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and river floats. With his amazing personality, when he walked into a room he instantly owned it. There will be void left in many without him.

He was preceded by his paternal grandparents, Marilyn and Wayne Bird; an uncle, David Bradley Bird; and his cousin, James DuVall.

Surviving are his son, Caden Riley Bird of Summerville, S.C.; mother, Terrie Brown of Collinsville, Ill.; father, Michael Wayne Bird of Culp, Ill.; brothers, Kyle Brandon Bird of Collinsville, Ill., and Dylan Randall Bird of Collinsville, Ill.; an aunt, Cindy (Ben) Bodimer; uncles, Randy (John Martinelli) Brown and Douglas (Laura Hopfinger) Bird; cousins, Ben Bodimer, Zach Bodimer, Denise Bird and Andrew Bird; his maternal grandparents, H. Douglas and Carolyn Brown of Collinsville; his great-grandmother, Mary Aileen Brooks of Collinsville; his great-aunts and great-uncles; a special friend, Rachael Durley; and his closest Bros, the members of "Team Bird".

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Mathis officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
