Ernest R. Cummings Jr., 84, of Maryville, Ill., born Thursday, March 10, 1927, in Kankakee, Ill., died Monday, May 30, 2011, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Ernest worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for 37 years, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Estelle, nee Beland, Cummings Sr.
Surviving are his wife, Anna, nee Herring, Cummings whom he married in December of 1951; daughter, Janice Bordon of Sanford, Fla.; sons, Stephen (Becky) Cummings of Maryville, Ill., Craig (Theresa) Cummings of Towanda, Ill., and Philip (Catherine) Cummings of Bartlett, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.
