Eugene L Allen

Eugene L. Allen, 78, of Collinsville, Ill., born August 26, 1938, in Austin Minn., passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016, in Maryville, Ill.

Eugene was a decorated Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller and also serving his country valiantly in Vietnam and beyond. After retirement from the military he continued to serve his country as a U.S. Air Force Civilian.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife Daisy Allen, who sadly passed away October 26, 2014; parents, Leroy Allen, Marie Graff along with his step-father Vernon Graff.

Surviving are his children, Jeffrey E. Allen of Davis, Calif., Christopher W. (Kimberly) Allen of Collinsville, Ill.; six grandchildren, David (Adreneh) Allen, Brianna Allen, Trevor Allen, Rian Allen, James Dillard and Carrie Klomps; three great-grandchildren, Kimberlee, Faye and Maxton; sisters, Mary (Bob) Ford, Marilyn (David) Benson, Margi Graff and Martha Kaderabek; brothers, Vern (Paula) Graff, Tom (Mary) Graff and Jon (Kris) Graff; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; dear close friends, the Hole family, Brown family and the Pener family.

Visitation: Friends may visit with the family 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Havrilka officiating. Burial to follow with full military honors at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Edwardsville, Ill.
