Evelyn M. Lane

Evelyn Marie Lane 96 of Edwardsville, Illinois passed away on Monday December 5, 2016 in Maryville, Illinois. She was born in Edwardsville, Ill. on March 18, 1920 the daughter of the late Edward A. and Lillian nee Dauderman Volz. She was also preceded by her husband Thorton whom she married June 21, 1941. Also preceded by her brother Wilbur (Mary) Volz, brother-in-law Marvin Funston and nephew Mark Funston.

Evelyn was very active and loving person who enjoyed bowling, golf, and traveling with her family. She also enjoyed cards at the Edwardsville Senior Citizens. She retired after 45 years as a beautician from Beauty-Mart in Edwardsville, Ill.

She is survived by three children Kathy (Harold) Ellis of Edwardsville, Ill., Kim (Albert) Pauli of Edwardsville, Ill and Gary (Carol) Lane of Lincoln, Ca. seven grandchildren Aaron Ellis, Dawn Calhoon, Kristen Pauli, Nick Pauli, Jennifer Billhartz, Tracy Geis and Jeffrey Jones. Also 10 great grandchildren and a sister Betty Jean Funston of Edwardsville, Ill and nephew Clay Funston of Edwardsville, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Sunset Hill funeral Home 50 Fountain Dr. in Glen Carbon, Ill. on Thursday December 8, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday December 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Pastor John Roberts officiating. Interment to follow at the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
