Evelyn Dorothy Seitz, 93, formerly from Yucaipa, Calif., Fountain of Youth Spa and RV Park Niland, Calif., and New Albany, Ind., passed away at Collinsville Care Center in Collinsville, Ill., on April 4, 2014.

Evelyn was born on June 26, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., the second of five girls to William and Evelyn Rose (Lagger) Meter. On June 27, 1946 she married Edwin Peter Seitz in Huntingburg, Ind.

Evelyn was employed as an instructor at Capri Beauty School in Chicago, Ill., before retiring to California, where she enjoyed walking, swimming, and visiting with her many friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; parents, William and Evelyn Rose Meter; three sisters, Viola Trosper, Laverne Shields and Marlene Meter; and one granddaughter, Micki Goodwin.

Surviving are her sister, Willetta Waddick of Bradley Ill.; 5 children, James (Irene) Seitz of Jasper Ind., Eugenia Shirley Nichols of Redlands, Calif., Nancy (James) Colocino of Irvine Calif., Georgia (Walt) Schefft of Collinsville Ill., and Wayne (Connie) Seitz of St. Louis, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Mike Seitz, Patty Seitz, Terri Seitz, Dane (Julie) LaGrange, Paul (Robin) LaGrange, Polly Foxx, Lara Colocino, Megan Colocino, Mark Schefft, Paul (Mary) Schefft, Stacy (James) Cabanas, Jody Seitz, and Kelly (Chris) Klima; 18 great-grand-children; and several great-great-grandchildren.
