Everett "Earl" Guffey, 78, of Collinsville, Ill., born Dec. 25, 1934, in Paducah, Ky., died at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, Ill.

Earl retired in 1996 from Upchurch Redi Mix. He was a member of Teamsters Local 50 and the Bethany Baptist Church where he was the worship leader. Earl was an avid Cardinals fan. He loved his dog Cody, gardening, and playing music.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Guffey, whom he married on Feb. 15, 1955; his parents, John and Nancy, nee Gunn, Guffey; four brothers, Charles, James, Marvin and Everett; and a sister, Christine.

Surviving are his children, Kenneth Earl (Terrye) Guffey of Collinsville, Ill., Pennie E. (Darrell) Schonka of Eureka Springs, Ark., Robert L. (Ronda) Guffey of Granite City, Ill., Terry L. (Bobbi) Guffey of Collinsville, Ill., and Kimberly A. (Richard) Drago of Troy, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill., with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, Ill.
