Obituary

Faren Ellen Wilson, our sweet Boop Boop, passed away on January 19th, 2026 at the age of 25, following complications from her 12-year battle with epilepsy.

Faren was born in Granite City, IL on July 1st, 2000, to parents Richard E Wilson and Michelle A House (Chandler). She was born with a rare genetic condition called Trisomy 18 or Edward's Syndrome. This didn't stop her from being a joyful and loving child. Faren loved being an important part of family gatherings, where everyone had to take turns holding her while watching movies or listening to music. Faren, who was a remarkable human being, would burst into bouts of giddiness, which included kicking her legs and carrying a long, and sometimes loud note! She also loved being near her sister, Quenby, and simply listening to her voice.

Faren, the amazing, who defied all the odds, outlived her one-year life expectancy, surprising many doctors and professionals that met her, by giving us 25 miraculous years. Despite all of the challenges in her lifetime, she took them on like a real trooper. She was the strongest woman that we knew, yet we know for certain she entered Heaven as a precious child. And although Faren always had a quiet strength, she would vocalize her needs robustly as needed! She was surrounded by a loving family who was always willing to take the best care of her.

Faren touched the lives of everyone she met. Her joy showed strength and purity, teaching us how to live and love well. She made us want to be better versions of ourselves. And boy did she love a good rattle! And not just any rattle would do. It had to be the perfect fit for her little hand. She always loved having lights projected onto her bedroom walls, having stories read to her, and being with family, who certainly gave her a million kisses in her lifetime. Faren also loved going to her school, William BeDell ARC, in Wood River, IL. She graduated from their program in 2021.

Although it was always weighing on our hearts, our family was not expecting this sudden loss of Faren. We are devastated by her passing and will feel her absence forever. She was the most loving and most vibrant soul. She was pure love and joy to be around. She will forever be missed. However, her sweet smile will continue to nourish us. We were blessed to have 25 wonderful years with her, and she will continue to be with us in our hearts. Faren is a bright light that expands beyond the limitations of this world.

Faren will always be remembered by her parents Richard Wilson (Angela Buck) of Collinsville and Michelle House (Jason House) of Collinsville, her grandparents Richard and Kaye Wilson of Fairview Heights, Richard and Phyllis Chandler of Collinsville, and Wesley and Janet Self of Collinsville, and by her loving sister Quenby Wilson of Collinsville. She will also be remembered by the House family of Pevely, MO, as well as many loving Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and friends who were most important in ensuring Faren had the best quality of life.

A private graveside service will be held on February 14th, 2026.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family is being served by HERR Funeral Home, 501 West Main Street, Collinsville, Illinois  62234.
