Florence V. Burkholder, nee Jouett, 91, of Collinsville, Ill., born June 21, 1921, in Carrollton, Ill., died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.

Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, and devoted homemaker who will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends. For over 30 years she had worked at the Collinsville Memorial Library and as head librarian oversaw the construction of both wings, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St John Evangelical UCC, the Women's Guild, the Collinsville Chapter of PEO, and Friends of the Collinsville Library. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and who she helped throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Burkholder whom she married on May 16, 1948, in Carrollton, Ill.; parents, Rual and Cecil Jouett; and sisters, Ester Byland and Catherine McAdams.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda and son-in-law, Norb Kniepp of Collinsville, Ill.; grandchildren, Cory and Wendy Kniepp of Collinsville, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to St John Evangelical UCC, Collinsville, Ill., Collinsville Memorial Public Library, or the Carrollton United Methodist Church at Carrollton, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Herr Funeral Home, Collinsville, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at St John Evangelical UCC, Collinsville, Ill., with Pastor Tony Minear officiating. Interment will be at the Carrollton Cemetery, Carrollton, Ill., later in the afternoon.
