COLLINSVILLE, IL- Florence "Flossie" S. Quatto, 90, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at her home.

Florence was born on September 25, 1927 in Collinsville, IL to Edwin and Louise (Meyer) Schmidt. She married Joseph C. Quatto on March 25, 1977 in Collinsville, IL; he preceded her in death in February 1984

She was also preceded in death by her infant sister, Evelyn, in October 1926.

Florence was the bookkeeper for her husband's business years ago. Together, they enjoyed square dancing and spending time with their friends. She was actively involved with her church, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and the Red Cross. She was a talented musician and loved to play the organ. She loved to celebrate holidays and special occasions. She cherished walking and being with her beloved dog, Buffy and her cats, Buttercup and Oscar. She could often be found wearing her straw hat, firing up her Farmall tractor or riding the lawnmower and cutting grass, which she did almost every evening (particularly when her neighbor and friend did so.) Florence was special to so many people and will be missed, but will always be with us in spirit.

Memorial donations may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois. The friends of Florence would like to give a special thank you to the doctors and nurses with Hospice of Southern Illinois and the caregivers with HomeWatch Caregivers of St. Louis for their exceptional care they showed to Florence throughout her time with them.

VISITATION: A visitation for Florence will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 10:00 A.M.- 11:00 A.M. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL. Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
