Frances Ann Merlo, nee Novero, 86, of Collinsville, Ill., born July 7, 1925, in Collinsville, Ill., died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, in Edgewood, Md.



Mrs. Merlo was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, Ill., the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary, Daughters of Isabelle and the Legion of Mary.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy Merlo whom she married on Feb. 16, 1946; and parents, Tony and Josephine, nee Vacca, Novero.



Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Lynn Schiller of Edgewood, Md.; two grandchildren, Bryan (Jackie) Schiller of Edgewood, Md., and JoAnne (Greg) Gatto of Abingdon, Md.; and three great-grandchildren, Kayla, Catelynn and Caleb.

Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Collinsville, Ill., with Father John Beveridge officiating. Burial will be at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
