Francis A. "Frank" Smith Sr., 69, of Caseyville, Ill., born on Oct. 7, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo., died at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Caseyville, Ill.

Mr. Smith retired from the Caseyville Police Dept. after 29 and a half years. He had also served on the Caseyville Fire Department and the Fairmont Police Department. He was a member of the F.O.P. #139.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Anne, nee Klima, Smith.

Surviving are his sons, Francis Allen (Mary Kay) Smith of Collinsville, Ill., and Brian Smith of Caseyville, Ill.; daughter, Patricia (Tom) Russell of Warrenton, Mo.; brother, Melvin J. Smith of Collinsville, Ill.; sister, Patricia (Joseph) Lobacz of St. Ann, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
