Frank R. Ganschinietz, Jr., 84, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Thursday July 11th, 2024 at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

He was born on February 1st, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, to Frank R. and Emma (nee Petchulat) Ganschinietz Sr. He was a retired Collinsville Firefighter of 28 years. He served faithfully in the US Army for 37 years. He was a member of the Reserve Officer's Association, the Collinsville American Legion, the Caseyville Moose Lodge, and the Shelbyville Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank R. and Emma (nee Petchulat) Ganschinietz Sr; his brother, Dr. Ronald R. Ganschinietz.

Surviving are his three children; Frank (Karren) Ganschinietz III, of Boss, MO, Emily (John II) Audrain of Collinsville, IL, and Ashley (Cole) Ruiz of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his six grandchildren; Tharyn Ganschinietz, Bradley (Danielle) Ganschinietz, Camryn Ruiz, John Audrain III, Lilliana Audrain, and Kenneth Audrain. Plus one great-grandson; Brayden Ganschinietz.

Friends may call from 4pm till 8pm on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at Herr Funeral Home in Collinsville, IL. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at 10am, at Herr Funeral Home. Burial will be at the St. John Cemetery in Collinsville, IL immediately following services.
