Fred Harold Kirksey of Collinsville, IL, died on June 17, 2026, at the age of 92. Beloved husband, dad, PaPa, Great PaPa, and uncle; he passed away in his sleep at Eden Village Care Center. He was born January 31, 1934, in Nashville, TN, and lived in Stewart County, TN, until he followed the love of his life, Freda Violette, and moved to Granite City, IL, and then married her.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Violette (Wallace) Kirksey of 72 years, his parents, Geaney Kirksey and Pantha (Haneline) Kirksey Sykes; two sisters, Dorothy Kirksey and Haughty Mae (Kirksey) Gray; and brothers, Horace Kirksey, Austin Kirksey, and Orman Kirksey, and daughter-in-law, Lesa Kirksey.

He is survived by his children, Mark Kirksey of Dover, TN, and Andrea (Scott) Young of Maryville, IL; sister, Bessie (Kirksey) Keel; and grandchildren, Matt (Shanelle) Kirksey, Rita (Eric) Justice, Tyler Young, and Simon (Hannah) Young; as well as great grandchildren.

Visitation is June 22, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church immediately followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.
