Freda Beys, of Worden, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1st, 2023, at 12:53 p.m. at River Crossing of Alton. Freda was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, to Michael and Mary Beys on October 7th, 1951. Freda was a kind and generous woman who loved her family and friends. She also loved teaching Sunday School for many years at St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Mary Beys. She is survived by her brothers Meletios (Milton) Beys, Gregory Beys (Linda), Thomas Beys (Donna), and Christ Beys (Gerri). Freda is also survived by her many cousins whom she loved dearly, as well as her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Sunset Hill Funeral Home in Glen Carbon, Illinois, with visitation Friday, October 6, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Burial will take place at Sunset Hill Funeral Home. The Beys family wishes to extend their gratitude to and thanks to River Crossing Nursing Home of Alton and ProMedica Hospice Services. Freda will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Freda's name to St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, c/o Freda Beys Memorial, 405 Huntwood Road, Swansea, Illinois, 62226, which will be accepted at the funeral home.
