COLLINSVILLE- Freda Juanita "Nita" Grimes, 80, of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born May 3, 1938 in Herrin, IL to Joe and Helen Irene (Mays) Jeffrey. She married Henry Grimes in December 1958. Together, they shared nearly 60 years of marriage. He survives and resides in Collinsville, IL.

Also surviving is their daughter, Hancy J. Grimes of Collinsville, IL.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alfred Jeffrey and Joe Jeffrey Jr.

In years past, Nita worked as a tax preparer and a receptionist at H&R Block in Collinsville. She also was a beauty consultant with Mary Kay for many years. She was a past Sunday school teacher at Bethel Baptist Church in Caseyville, IL. She enjoyed ceramics, painting and spending quality time with the ones she loved. Nita was devoted to her loving family and cherished the time they spent together. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Glen Carbon, IL. Sunset Hill Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
