Fredrick William Walker, 82, of Highland, Ill., born Thursday, Jan. 9, 1930, in Ava, Ill., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Faith Care Center, Highland, Ill.
Mr. Walker was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore J. and Edna, nee Kessel, Walker.
Surviving are his wife, Robbye C. Walker of Highland, Ill.; a son, Mark A. (Kristie) Walker of Edwardsville, Ill.; a daughter, Debra A. (Richard) Wright of St. Jacob, Ill.; two brothers, Leroy Walker of Highland, Ill., and Robert Walker of Laramie, Wyo.; a sister, Mary Borri of Glen Carbon, Ill.; five grandchildren, Shannon (Terry) Harting, Courtney Wright, Zac (Emily) Walker, Justin Walker and Megan Walker; and a great-grandchild, Ian Harting.
Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, Ill., or to Alzheimer's Research.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Sunset Hill Funeral Home, Glen Carbon, Ill., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, Ill., with the Rev. Tim Lewis and the Rev. Jim Wiens officiating. Burial will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, Ill.
