Gabriele Steinhauff, 77, of Glen Carbon, IL passed away March 14, 2024 at Anderson Hospital. Gabriele
was born June 10, 1946 near Frankfurt, Germany to parents Max and Irmgard Schoene (nee Schieritz).

As a result of her passion for singing, she met her husband, Bert Steinhauff, at a German singing society in Newark, New Jersey. She and Bert married on December 30, 1967. The two lived in many places before settling in Troy, IL for thirty years and then Collinsville, IL for twelve.

In addition to supporting her husband throughout his 26 years of service in the Air Force, her
accomplishments include graduating with honors from Webster University, where she majored in
Human Resources. After graduating, she served as a corporate trainer at A.G. Edwards in St. Louis, MO.  Gabriele also taught German at SIUE, as well as served as a private German tutor for many.

Above all, Gabriele was most proud of her family who will continue to cherish her memory. She is
survived by her husband, Bert Steinhauff (Glen Carbon, IL), her sons, Eric (Karri) Steinhauff (Glen Carbon, IL), and Kirk (Lynn) Steinhauff (San Diego, CA), and her beloved grandchildren Gillian and Max Steinhauff (Edwardsville, IL).

Her parents Max and Irmgard Schoene (nee Schieritz) preceded her in death.

A memorial is being held in Gabriele's honor on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 5 p.m. at Eden Village in
Glen Carbon.
