Gary Wayne Rogers, 76, of Collinsville, Illinois, passed away on April 22, 2021 at his
home.
Gary was born May 2, 1944, to Lawrence and Mildred (Johnson) Rogers. He was the
owner/operator of several baseball card shops for many years. Gary served in the United
States Navy and was very proud of his service.
He loved baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. His time with his family was important to
him. Gary was known for his humming and tapping on things……..he was never on key
or in tune.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence Rogers and Mildred Rogers;
brother, Grant Rogers; many aunts and uncles; and his lifelong partner, Dale Hammonds.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Gail Rogers of Collinsville, Illinois; nieces: Stephanie
(Kayla) Moyer of O'Fallon, Illinois, Erin (Anthony) Paulson of Auburn, Illinois, and
Tarah (Jeremiah) Nance of Collinsville, Illinois; nephew, David Endicott great nieces and
nephews: Zackary Friedmansky, Carsten Paulson, McKenna Paulson; Alyssa and Kaylee
Nance; Grayson Harlin, Arianne Paulson, and Lincoln Moyer; as well as beloved cousins
and friends.
Cremation has been accorded by Herr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of
Collinsville, Illinois.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
